Ike Farida has fought tooth and nail to secure legal ownership of an apartment unit she purchased three years ago, to no avail. "As a citizen of Indonesia, I feel I'm being discriminated against," Ike said on Tuesday last week.
Ike has taken her case to the Constitutional Court, where she is challenging land- and building-ownership restrictions on Indonesians married to foreign citizens.
