The East Java Attorney General's Office has detained Dahlan Iskan, accusing him of selling regionally-owned assets without the consent of the province's Regional Assembly. Prosecutors have yet to finalize the State's estimated losses.

PIETER Talaway was stunned when two investigators escorted Dahlan Iskan out of the room where he was questioned. The former minister for State-Owned Enterprises under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono emerged wearing a detainee's red vest. "Pak Dahlan was not given the time to ask for me as his lawyer to be present," said Pieter, who represents the former minister, speaking at the East Java Attorney General's Office (AGO) in Surabaya, last Thursday.
