Criminal Charges over Insurance Disputes

Two top Asuransi Allianz Indonesia executives have been named suspects after their clients reported them for refusing to pay their health insurance claims. The Allianz affair is Indonesia’s first insurance dispute leading to criminal charges.

ALVIN Lim delivered a demand for compensation to the management of Asuransi Allianz Indonesia one month after his two clients reported two of the company's executives to the Jakarta Police. He said the police report would be withdrawn if the Germany-based company would be willing to accept his demand. ¡°I asked for Rp3 billion to resolve all three claims,¡± Alvin said last week.
