The Criminal Code Bill spells bad news for husbands who justify intercourse by force. The current prevailing Criminal Code is strangely silent on this matter. Under the current Code, a man may only be convicted of the rape of a woman other than his wife. However, the words: "other than his wife", have been deleted from the Bill. Under the Bill, a man may also be convicted of raping his spouse.
