A third group of suspects in the Trisakti investigation are being tried in a military court. But the defendants are ordinary ‘foot soldiers’ and not their commanding officers.

The whole reform movement can be said to have started at Trisakti University. At its West Jakarta campus on May 12, 1998, four students were shot dead. Following that, students occupied the House of Representatives (DPR) building and eventually President Suharto fell. But an important part of the reform movement story, namely the shooting of the four Trisakti students, is still shrouded in mystery.
