Many regional village residents have successfully reclaimed land formerly seized by the state. However, 519 farmers from Kendal in Central Java have been ordered to evacuate 'state land'.

The face of justice Magdalena Sidabutar turned pale as hundreds of angry farmers surrounded the Kendal District Court-house in Central Java. Shoes in hand, Magdalena hastily descended from the second floor of the courthouse, screaming "Help! Help!"
Fortunately for Magdalena, a court officer managed to pick her up and escort her outside the courthouse grounds by motorbike with heavy police escort, narrowly escaping the grasp of the angry masses.
