The Irian Jaya local government has begun paying out compensation for lands belonging to the Ohee tribe. But the first installment of Rp2 billion has not in fact gone to the Ohee.

THE living standards of the Ohee tribe in Irian Jaya surely ought to improve now that the tribe has been awarded Rp2 billion in compensation.
