DOZENS of water spray machines were roaring at a gold mine in Sekatak village, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan. Nearby was a conveyor belt carrying mud and sand. On the other end of the line, traditional miners extracted gold deposits using metal pans shaped like a frying pan.
