The long, drawn-out conflict in Aceh is taking a heavy toll not only in lives and property. It has destroyed hundreds of businesses. Plantation owners are among the hardest hit as their workers have abandoned the fields by the thousands, fleeing the spiraling violence as government forces battle separatist rebels in the province.
