RAFANI Akhyar, Secretary-General of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of West Java, has known Panji Gumilang since he was in the Mathla’ul Anwar Islamic High School in Menes, Pandeglang, Banten, in 1970. Rafani was a student of Panji Gumilang, now the leader of Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School in Indramayu, West Java.
