Slowly but surely, witnesses testifying in the trial of Tommy Suharto have begun to withdraw their police statements. This new development may very well weaken the case against Tommy.

The trial of Tommy Suharto has moved venue from the Central Jakarta District Court to the Jakarta Fair arena. Two extra judges have been added to the presiding judicial panel. Tommy has been charged with the possession of firearms and explosives, involvement in the murder of Supreme Court Justice Syafiuddin Kartasasmita and evading his prison sentence during his time as Indonesia's most wanted fugitive.
