Rahardi Ramelan managed a bitter smile when the South Jakarta District Court judicial panel presiding over his case sentenced him to two years in prison last week. The panel found Ramelan guilty of corruption during his tenure as chief of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) under former President B.J. Habibie. The panel also ordered Ramelan to pay a Rp50 million fine and return Rp400 million in misappropriated funds to the state.
