Ichlasul Amal:"The court verdict will hurt democracy"

The ruling of the Central Jakarta District Court which sentenced Tempo Chief Editor Bambang Harymurti to a one year sentence evoked reactions from various people. The Indonesian Press Council chairman, Ichlasul Amal, for instance, said that the ruling went contrary to the spirit of reform.
