AFAILING economy calls for tough measures. And the Indonesian Government has decided to take a stance against wealthy tax evaders. In April 2003, a joint decree issued by the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Justice & Human Rights, will come into effect. The decree establishes a tax evasion task-force agency for detaining large-scale tax evaders.

The establishment of the task-force agency has been long awaited. Six years ago, Law No. 19/19
