AFTER spending just four months in prison, former East Timor governor Abilio Soares is a free man. He had been sentenced to three years in prison for involvement in the human rights violations committed in East Timor following the 1999 referendum, but Soares this week was released from prison after the Supreme Court exonerated him from all charges.
