Palu's district court has been accused of wrongly conducting a multiple hearing marathon, inadvertently denying some defendants the right to legal representation.

BAHAR Launding must have thought that he was dreaming when the Palu District Court sentenced him to 11 years in prison in record-breaking time. Launding, 20, was tried two months ago on charges of murder. "There wasn't even enough time to finish a cigarette, the judge went straight to the verdict," said Launding, a resident of Marantale Village in the Parigi District of Palu. Trial was held by the district court in Parigi, Central Sulawesi.
