THERE are actually stacks of log smuggling cases on the police’s desk. However, the arrest of the suspects cannot stop the raging illegal logging practices because they are only small-fry executors. The financial backers are allowed to roam free. Forestry Minister M.S. Kaban is convinced that if they are caught, illegal logging will be reduced by 80 percent.
