Rinaldy Damanik was sentenced to three years in prison for the illegal possession of firearms. He claimed that he has framed.

Last Monday, Rinaldy Damanik glared angrily at Palu District Court Chairperson, Nyoman Somanda as Somanda read out the court's decision regarding Damanik. After hearing the verdict, the 44-year old Christian priest wiped his face with a handkerchief and then clasped his child's hand. The court had sentenced Damanik to two years and three months in prison.
