The Jakarta High Court has declared Abu Bakar Baasyir not guilty of subversion, but guilty of committing crimes of terrorism.

ON November 10, 2003 Muslim cleric and leader of the Al-Mukmin Ngruki Islamic boarding school, Abu Bakar Baasyir, received dispensation from the Jakarta High Court. Chaired by Justice Hasan Basri Pase, the presiding judicial panel ruled that Baasyir was not guilty of leading, organizing or participating in subversive activities aimed at toppling the government.
