TEMPO magazine has received Press Council Award 2021 in the printed media category. This is a prestigious honor as the Press Council is an institution mandated by the Press Law No. 40/1999—a product of the 1998 Reformasi—to uphold press freedom in safeguarding democracy.

Unlike other press awards, the Press Council jury selected the media independently, instead of choosing them in various categories by assessing the works or nominees
