Illuminating Poetry
I read with interest your crazy era commentary on a work of Ronggowarsita (1802-1873), the poet royal in the court of Sri Sunan in Surakarta, Central Java (Tempo English Edition, October 2, 2006, literature section, p. 40). You referred to the choice lines of his timeless piece Serat Kala Tidha (Poem of a Time of Darkness). They are from the seventh stanza.
