On 10 January 2001, a number of media quoted the statement of DPR Speaker Akbar Tandjung that the DPR did not need to apologize to the president. The remark was a "retort" to President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) who insists he will not consult the DPR, unless the DPR apologizes to him first.
