In Ananto Wibowo's letter titled New Generation of Forced Laborers (May 14), he wrote, "the flashback about jugun ianfu is a dark past for Indonesian women—when the former jugun ianfu ask for some kind of retribution."

There are a few things I would like to ask:

1. Does a dark past mean that it is a bad, embarrassing moment in the history of Indonesia?
2. When the former jugun ianfu ask for retribution, is it also a dark history for Indonesia? F
