I rather disagree with Anton Bachrul's statement that the press is the one responsible for making Jakarta fearful, and that the crime rate in Jakarta is actually relatively low. The data used by the police is based only on data from people who report the crimes to them, while in reality there are more victims who do not want to report crimes.
