I felt irked and couldn’t believe myself after reading The Straits Times on 24 July 2000. In one of the articles, it was mentioned that from January to May 2000, the Singaporean treasury’s income from taxes levied on personal income, goods, services, lottery, and gambling, totaled S$7.3 billion, or Rp37 trillion.
