The government is asked to reduce the quota for premium Haj pilgrimages to shorten the waiting time in standard pilgrimages and to buy hotels and guesthouses for pilgrims.

IN 2024, the Indonesian government dispatched 241,000 people for Haj pilgrimage, comprising 213,320 regular pilgrims and 27,680 special pilgrims. Every year, Indonesia always receives additional quotas, but it still does not match the immense interest among Indonesian Muslims who aspire to fulfill the fifth pillar of Islam.
The increase in quotas from the Saudi Arabian government has not reduced the number or duration of queues.
