Books are not highly valued in this country. The atmosphere at Ikapi's Book Exhibition is more like that of a morning market. The blaring sound system is supposed to attract attention. Stand attendants often distribute brochures in the narrow passages between stands, while some visitors stand transfixed like statues, reading posters along the corridors, causing "traffic jams".
