The Communication & Information Department is reportedly to enact the draft ministerial regulation on multimedia content. The draft had been shelved since 2006 and was ignored by two ministers before Tifatul Sembiring. The contentious regulation has been met with fierce opposition as it is seen as an effort to curb the freedom of expression through online media.
