WHEN the Constitutional Assembly was dissolved, I returned to the world of my origins. Many colleagues offered me work in Jakarta. I was to be assigned to assist a commission chaired by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX in Jakarta. But I refused because I wanted to finish my studies that had been interrupted up until then.
During the physical revolution, I had to carry a weapon. In 1950 I entered the College of Law in the East Java capital of Surabay
