A ‘Man of Action’ is Gone

Eminent economist and politician, Sjahrir, passed away last Monday. He was a man of principle, an activist, a scholar and an optimist to the end.

AFTER four weeks of battling lung cancer at Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Sjahrir finally succumbed and breathed his last on Monday, July 29, just a little after 9am. He was 63 years old.
