The detention of a number of tycoons has been nothing more than a farce. This is the opinion of most respondents who took part in a TEMPO opinion poll last week. Their apathetic attitude comes from the fact that the government has conspicuously failed to eradicate corruption by the tycoons. Governments may come and go, but the wayward tycoons who stole hundreds of trillions of rupiah in public funds are still at large and living it up.
