Three Swiss musicians tried to combine jazz music with Balinese gamelan. Not so successful, but their spirit deserves appreciation.

LAST Thursday evening at the Eramus Huis in Jakarta there was an attempt to mix jazz with gamelan. The music advanced slowly. Anne Florence's alto voice flowed at a slow tempo, in a harmonious chain of tunes accompanied by a contra melody played by Claude Schnider on electric guitar.
