LAST Thursday evening at the Eramus Huis in Jakarta there was an attempt to mix jazz with gamelan. The music advanced slowly. Anne Florence's alto voice flowed at a slow tempo, in a harmonious chain of tunes accompanied by a contra melody played by Claude Schnider on electric guitar.
