As the July presidential election approaches, the name of 60-year old K.H. Hasyim Muzadi keeps cropping up. A number of the major political parties, it seems, have begun to eye this native of Tuban, East Java, as a possible vice-presidential candidate. As leader of Indonesia's largest Islamic organization, the 45 million-member Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Hasyim is regarded as a valuable vote getter.
