The land and building tax data kept on Banda Aceh residents can be used as a basis for reconstruction efforts. Unfortunately, this information is not being utilized.

IN post-tsunami Aceh, all has been lost, except for the land. In general, the disaster victims have nothing left except the plot of land where they used to live. However, it is not an easy matter to retain ownership of land after the disaster. Land boundaries have disappeared. Most of the documents of ownership were lost or destroyed. Relying on memory and guesswork is very much prone to error.
