The Constitutional Courts letter to the president has triggered political controversy. The government refuses to annul its fuel price rise decision.

CHIEF Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Jimly Asshiddiqie, sent a letter to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The MK questioned why the presidential regulation on fuel price increase referred to Law No. 22/2001 on Oil & Gas. Why not based on the MK revision of the Oil & Gas Law, which was already subjected to a judicial review on December 21, 2004? asked Jimly Asshiddiqie.
