A DPR member enjoys a very high income, and every year he or she may spend as much as Rp1.16 billion of the state budget, as can be seen from the 2006 budget that the House proposed and that the government approved.

The total budget forked out for the House of Representatives in 2006 amounts to Rp1.15 trillion. This money will be spent on the pay and allowances of all 550 House members and also on the expenses arising from their activities. A D
