DAWN was just breaking on Monday last week. Zyaher and dozens of other inmates of the Kupang Immigration Detention Center in East Nusa Tenggara had not slept all night. They were not waiting for the dawn meal before the start of another day’s fasting, but rather were making the final preparations for their escape.
