THERE were no interruptions or any significant debate during the Justice and Prosperity Party’s Shura Advisory Council meeting, on Friday two weeks ago. No fewer than 89 of the 99 council members present expressed their opinions on the five-page draft new contract for the coalition of government supporters. Some did criticize the contents of the draft, but generally only provided arguments for and against, were the draft to be approved.
