Panda Hears Heavy Sentence Demand
PANDA Nababan, a defendant in the traveler’s checks case, had a rude awakening in court last Wednesday. Prosecutors demanded three years in prison and a fine of Rp150 million. Prosecutors consider Panda guilty of receiving 29 checks worth Rp1.45 billion in relation to the election of the senior deputy governor of Bank Indonesia in 2004.
