A BLUE iron fence surrounds the former Saripetojo ice factory in the district of Purwosari, Surakarta. From the outside, only the roof can be seen of the Dutch-era building. Much of it has disintegrated, with only the bare framework remaining. Rubble from demolition work is scattered on the ground.

Owned by Citra Mandiri Local Industries (PDCM), this ice factory in Central Java ceased operations one year ago because of continual financial losses
