Indonesia's president has approved imports of 400 luxury cars for an upcoming summit, with hefty tax discounts. The state stands to lose more than Rp140 billion as a result, while the importers are likely to make a mint.

You cannot expect the powerful to do without their luxury cars just because of a little economic collapse. In May, troubled Indonesia hosts a summit of the Group of 15 nations.
