In the early hours of Wednesday last week, the Cipinang Penitentiary was ablaze. The blasts of teargas launchers could be heard through the commotion. Hundreds of prisoners were involved in the riot. They broke loose from their cells after several of their number had snatched the keys from warders who were also taken hostage. The prisoners who had freed themselves then set the office ablaze, burning all the data stored there on all the inmates. T
