THE size of his nerve overshadows his skinny figure. With his ribcage protruding, Haryanto, a 19-year-old youth, is fearless as he faces his hefty, sword-carrying opponent. He readies himself to take the blow of his opponents’ weapon. The audience of children and adults takes a deep breath. The sword hits Haryanto’s body more than once, but no blood flows. There is only a blue bruise, as if he had been hit.
