When speaking at Golkar's anniversary celebration at the Jakarta International Expo in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Monday last week, Mahyudin made special mention of his colleague, Robert Joppy Kardinal. "Thank you for disbursing the budget for this activity," Mahyudin, deputy speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), said in front of thousands of party officials.
Many of the Golkar Party politicians present gossiped after the speech was broadcast live on TV One, a television station owned by Golkar General Chairman Aburizal. They felt Mahyudin's statement emphasized that Robert was trusted by Golkar General Treasurer Setya Novanto in financial matters.
