Tax Amnesty Tug-of-War

The secretary-general of the House of Representatives' (DPR) consultative council was given just a half hour to assemble all faction leaders for a meeting last Monday to discuss the fate of the tax amnesty draft law.

The sudden invitation angered Fadli Zon; it had been decided in the previous meeting that further discussions on the draft law would resume only after consultation with President Joko Widodo.
