BAMBANG D. H. submitted a seven-page letter to Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto before handing over his post as chair of the party's Jakarta Regional Management Council (DPD) two weeks ago. His letter contained an explanation on why it was inappropriate for the party to nominate Basuki Purnama 'Ahok' Tjahaja in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial race.
