Creating Paddy Fields Brings Problems

Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman has claimed that the new paddy fields program managed to attain 96 percent of its intended target in 2016. Over 129,000 hectares of land in 28 provinces were converted into paddy fields at a total cost of Rp 3.5 trillion. Tempo discovered that several newly converted paddy fields were problematic. Contractors also stated that they are facing many difficulties.
