Setya’s Testimony, KPK’s Doubt

Setya Novanto has requested to become a ‘justice collaborator’ for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), to help the agency expose the electronic ID card (e-KTP) corruption. But he has offered no new names of people who took bribes in the project. Setya has also positioned himself as a non-primary offender, the main requirement for being a justice collaborator in a major case.

HE first expressed his wish to become a ‘collaborator’ in resolving the e-KTP corruption case to his lawyer, Firman Wijaya, when the two met at the KPK detention cells three weeks ago. The former House of Representatives (DPR) speaker told Firman, who was visiting to look in on him, that he had written a draft request for a justice collaborator status.
