Life in Blitar is now back to normal. Besides several posters announcing the 31st anniversary of the death of Bung Karno and some 100th anniversary banners lining the streets there are no other signs of the hosting of a major event major event in this city in East Java in which Indonesia's first president was laid to rest. His tomb in another part of Blitar was also quiet with only a few people seen coming to pay their respects.
