Two rivals in Jakarta’s upcoming regional elections are sharpening their winning strategies. There is a rift in the Indonesia Onward Coalition.
ON the morning of September 5, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi had just crawled out of bed when his phone rang. The name Pramono Anung flashed on the screen. Without much small talk, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle’s (PDI-P) Jakarta gubernatorial candidate asked Prasetyo to join his campaign team as the chief executive.
